Projects
Autonomous transport robot system
Accountable for mechanical design and material selection for autonomous transport robots, including assessment of materials to optimise performance, weight, and ease of application to the project.
§ Generated mechanical design documentation, engineering drawings, of component specifications
§ The robot retrieved the load, carrying it successfully to the designated area with a 10cm high border within 95 seconds. Beating the average time by 25%.
V6 twin – turbo engine
Generated a 3D digital representation of a VR38DETT V6 inspired engine through the design and assembly of over 150 separate parts in SolidWorks. Utilised advanced CAD modelling, assembly features, and interference analysis to provide a validated assembly of +/- 0.5mm dimensional accuracy.
§ Optimised piston compression ratio using Ansys Forte simulations, improving overall engine power output by 2%.
Robotic arm cad project
Accountable for mechanical design and material selection for autonomous transport robot, including assessment of prospective materials and design structures to optimise performance, weight, and ease of manufacturability.
§ Produced full manufacturing documentation in the form of 3D CAD assemblies, component drawings, BOM and engineering analysis reports.
§ Optimised the robotic arm’s 3 kg load-holding capability by replacing 6061 aluminium with 5052 aluminium which resulted in an increased holding duration from 1 minute to 3 minutes 42 seconds.
